The Searcher: A Novel

This has been my first French book. I have enjoyed every page of it: the Irish scenery; the atmosphere, friendly, elusive, opressive; the characters; the relationship among them and how they evolve along the story; the pace, slow to start with, then achieving the rythm that makes it unputdownable.... In short: everything. Mostly how Trey and Cal get to the companionable relationship achieved through so much hardship and compassion. The way Cal makes his peace with his past. The characters, most of them at least, the ones that count. How you get to know them and love or despise them.... A great story. (Commented by Marta Oyonarte)
